My Twin Lens Photography Blog: Seattle Photographer Creates Editorial to inspire small brands
This photography project has been 4 years in the making. Yes, you read that correctly - 4 years. Back in the midst of the Covid lockdown 4 years ago, I was on a mission to continue my creative editorial work safely with others. This led me to explore the concept of remote shoots, a trend emerging during the lockdown. Through Instagram, I connected with Tierney, a talented individual who was open to experimenting with this novel idea. Our initial shoot, conducted over FaceTime in her home, was an exciting exercise in remote communication.
Now, in 2024, Tierney and I have stayed connected on social media since our first collaboration. With us both residing in the Seattle area, I knew it was the perfect time to bring to life a concept that has been brewing in my mind. Intrigued by the predicted trends highlighted in the 2024 Pinterest trend report, I was particularly drawn to the rise of cobalt blue in the makeup industry. This served as the inspiration for our recent shoot.
I envisioned a striking visual composition where the bold cobalt blue would take center stage. Pairing this vibrant hue with Tierney's red hair and a green sweater resulted in a playful yet powerful combination. To bring this vision to reality, I sought out a blue velvet fabric from Amazon and scoured local thrift stores like Goodwill for unique props.
As a Seattle photographer specializing in brand photography and creative editorial work, this collaboration with Tierney was a seamless blend of creativity and friendship. Stay tuned for more captivating projects that push the boundaries of visual storytelling in the ever-evolving world of photography.
